The box we live in

[ Last set ] [ Next set ]

All poetry by Kat Angus.. small set.

-Curtains-

This life is a farce
and i am laughing
a dream cannot last
if you ain't hoping
and we live this pretense
cause we are trying
to push the boundaries; the limits
of the
box
we live in.

fingers laid
upon dry lips
the audience gasps
the players pause
the suspense dangles its knife
we sway in
we sway out
then it drops.

did
you
grease
the
handle?

-Fields-

I am alone.
Is this truly
my greatest fear?
i will not let this overcome me
for it is only a passing phase
not a thing of permanence.

The air speaks
of all that will never be
of all it has never seen
and you walk up to my door.
blue-eyed, blonde-haired,
casual
careless
dream-like
prince-like
caring more than
i ever thought someone could.

3 words:
"walk with me."

I am alone.
but with you.

-The dive-

If fear is a crime
then yes, i'm guilty
but of all the roads i knew i'd walk
this is the one
i'd been waiting for.

It has not been easy
but then again, nothing worth doing
is easy.
we will do what's right
because we are right.

I shiver
despite the heat i feel,
despite the warmth you give me.
I shiver
as lips touch
hands stroking cheeks
eyes closed
icy hands
warm hearts.

-Contact-

Upon contact
with fears in mind
his head swims in time
with the beat of her heart
(though it only hangs on by a string)
fear not, feel it
without thought.

Upon contact
with flesh
vision clouds over
skin tingles
she stumbles; unable to stand
against his intensity
in a blur of arms and legs
they fall.

Upon contact
with truth
i do not fear you
i do not fear love
only pain.

Upon contact
my heart leaps, skips
my breath shakes
my hands quiver.

Upon contact
with the earth
relief floods through me
i am safe here with you.

until the next fall.
