Red Rain

[ Last set ] [ Next set ]

All poetry by Kat Angus. There's so much in this.. it's all coming out of me at the moment.

DESTIN

I pray for red rain tomorrow
I hope for silver tears
I wish for some result
From all these years

I dream of centre stage
I cry for unknown loss
I know in everything
There lies a hidden cost

I believe in destiny
I know my fate
No use for any regrets
When it's too late

No en pointe ballet shoes
No riding in a ring
No, I know what it is I'm fighting for

this dream, to sing.

You are
the sugar
that sticks to the dry spoon
that should never go back in the bowl.

CALL ME LOYAL

With childish
blotchy fingers
I fingerpaint my way
down the sail
I record it all
In thumbprint
Big one here
pinkie ones
(song here, rejection there)
trails of half-moon
ID
Knuckle-bones
(wanna play?)

Wind pushes
Like a maid pumping
the covers of a
vertical
bed
while wind hides huddled inside.

will it fly?
will it float?
I think I've gone off
the idea
of finding land this time.

NOT AN OPTION

it's inevitable, really.
the penny must drop some time.
the heart must stop
the hope must die
the dreams must fade.

should i let it?
should i become what i've always feared?
nothing.
nothing to you.
nothing to me.
nothing at all.

am i gullible enough to really believe
that there's an end to this?

GREATEST HITS

there is an album
forming in my mind
is it an LP?
EP?
Tape?
CD?
Mistake?

Songs syncopated
With your smile

Thought I knew enough of nothing
To feel like I knew something
About you.

"when it all is said
said and done
who can love you
and still be standing?"
